May 9 for Ukrainians is not about peace, but about Russian aggression

Russia's “privatization” of the victory in World War II, the cult of the rabid “victory”, the annexation and occupation of the territories of independent Ukraine, and the full-scale invasion have radically changed the attitude of Ukrainians towards May 9.
Because this day has lost its former symbolism forever. Its meaning has changed. It is not about peace, but about Russian aggression. It is about today's war crimes and crimes against humanity.
It is not surprising that every year the number of supporters of May 9 in Ukraine is decreasing. In 2025, it will be celebrated by the smallest number in the last 15 years.
This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology on February 4-9.
