An ancient stitch used by local grandmothers and great-grandmothers is being revived in the Horodok region. Today, the Horodok stitch is not as widespread as it was in the last century and is a relic. A hundred years ago, this stitch was famous in Horodok and the villages around it. In those days, the residents of Horodok wore clothes embroidered with Horodok stitches.

The staff of the local history museum started searching for clothes embroidered with this stitch, which Horodok residents kept in their chestsas family heirlooms passed down from generation to generation.

Today these relics are exhibits in the museum.

The museum also teaches the relic stitch to anyone who is interested , and people come to Horodok to learn this technique from as far away as Lviv, Kyiv, and other cities.

Local craftswomen are popularizing the Horodok stitch and striving to include it in the UNESCO intangible cultural heritage.

Journalists from different regions saw the unique ancient embroidery and were interested in the unusual Horodok stitch technique during a press tour organized by the Kharkiv Press Club.
