Good news from London! At the Ukrainian film festival PTAK, held in the UK, two films by Ukrainian director and screenwriter Alexander Zhovna received awards - “Sasha” and “The Story of Lisa.”

Both films — Sasha, shot in 2021, and The Story of Lisa (2019) — are dramatic stories about people with disabilities: a young man confined to a wheelchair and the love of “sunny” teenagers that ended in tragedy.

Theater and film actor Dmytro Nezhelsky won the award for best actor in a feature film for his leading role in Sashenka.

And Kharkiv native Vlad Pogribny, then a “sunny” teenager, was recognized by the jury as the best supporting actor in a feature film for “The Story of Lisa” for his talented creation of a bright, sincere image of a vulnerable person.
