Leonid Yakovlevych is one of the most famous senior tennis players in the world, a participant and winner of international tournaments among veterans. For many years, he has been impressing the world with his unbridled passion for sports.
In 2021, he was officially recognized as the best tennis player in the 90+ age group.
Leonid Stanislavsky is a Kharkiv resident. He twice received the title of national record holder of Ukraine as “The Oldest Tennis Player” and “The Oldest Person to Descend the Zip Line”.
He entered the Guinness Book of Records as the world's oldest tennis player participating in international competitions. He was 97 years old at the time. It was at Leonid Yakovlevich's suggestion that the International Tennis Federation created a new age category of competition - 90+. In this category, the world's oldest tennis player won silver and bronze medals at the world championships. And he received the award as the strongest tennis player on the planet in this age category.
