This year, the world is swept up in "Pooh-mania" as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the world’s most famous teddy bear. Although Winnie lives in the Hundred Acre Wood, his heart has beaten in the New York Public Library (NYPL) for over 35 years. It is there that the original toys of Christopher Robin — the real-life inspirations for Alan Alexander Milne’s beloved characters — are kept.
For a long time, this collection had a poignant gap: Baby Roo was lost in the apple orchards of Sussex back in the 1930s. However, British diplomacy moved to right this historical wrong during the royal couple's visit to the United States.
