"Behind the toilet. Self-portrait” is one of the most famous paintings by the outstanding artist Zinaida Evgenievna Serebryakova (1884-1967). In front of the viewer is a young woman at her morning toilet. She has her right hand clasped around her long brown hair and is combing it with a black comb.
Your columnist was quite surprised when she saw a note in one of the latest issues of the New York Post stating that 22-year-old American Riley Madison Ladner had revealed a resemblance to the heroine of the self-portrait.
