This conclusion was reached by scientists from the Department of General Pharmacy of the National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute" and the University of Cardiff (UK) as part of a joint project that created eco-packaging based on beeswax, which has antimicrobial properties and allows for longer food storage.

This is especially important for Ukraine because the occupiers are actively attacking Ukraine's energy facilities, which leads to long power outages, when refrigerators turn into a regular cabinet and food into food waste.

 

Extending the shelf life of products is especially important now, when the summer heat accelerates food spoilage, as well as in the war zone.

 

How exactly does beeswax packaging work? How long can it extend the "life" of products in extreme conditions? Is it possible to make a wax wrapper for food at home? And what products can be stored in it? Gromada found out about this.
