More children will be able to live in families. Project launched in Kharkiv region to create more foster families

The UNICEF project “A Family for Every Child: Development of Family-based Foster Care” has been launched in Kharkiv region, implemented by the international charitable organization “Partnership for Every Child” in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Policy, the National Social Service of Ukraine and the Coordination Center for the Development of Family-Based Care.
The project aims to popularize foster families, where children are placed under the supervision of professional caregivers while social services work with their biological parents who have fallen into difficult life circumstances, and to motivate families in communities to provide foster care services.
In Kharkiv region, 14 communities will participate in the project. The region is currently among the leaders in Ukraine in creating foster families, but in the current environment, this is not enough, according to the HOVA Children's Service.
