Women are increasingly taking up male professions. While employers used to be reluctant to hire women for male laboring professions, now they are open to hiring women for atypical positions.

This is a forced step. Men went to the front. Enterprises have faced an acute shortage of personnel.

Because of this, in November of this year, the government launched a project to train women in professions traditionally dominated by men. Ukrainian women will be able to master more than 30 professions at public expense and find jobs in areas where they were less represented.

In Kharkiv region, they started training women in male professions much earlier. This year, with the assistance of the Employment Service, 2046 women have undergone vocational training, which is 82% of the total number of people who have acquired new qualifications.

Among them is Lyudmyla Sheremet from Barvinkove, Kharkiv Oblast. She mastered a male profession and now works as a boiler room operator at Blagoustriy.
