For the first time in the 116-year history of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6), it will be headed by a woman — 47-year-old Blaise Metreweli. She has not yet taken office, which will happen in the fall. Currently, Sir Richard Moore holds this important position for the Kingdom.

For some reason, Kremlin propaganda reacted hysterically to Metreweli's appointment. Russian bloggers immediately began writing that “she is hostile toward Russia” (but who in Foggy Albion isn't hostile?).

 

But what an amusing chain of logic! Having discovered that her father was born in 1944 in German-occupied Ukraine and that his real surname is Dobrovolsky, and that her mother's maiden name is Borkovskaya, they all unanimously proclaimed that Blaise Metreweli was a “banderite,” the granddaughter of a soldier in the Galician Division, meaning that this appointment did not bode well for the Kremlin.

 

Can you imagine, they were afraid of her ancestors! And it does not bode well—that's a fact.
