When a scientist becomes a Hero. Top scientific achievements of Kharkiv and Ukraine in 2024

Traditionally, every new year, Hromada compiles a top list of scientific achievements. But this time we start with the most recent wound and loss for our science. On the night of January 1, 2025, two prominent scientists were killed in another Russian drone attack on Kyiv: neuroscientist Ihor Zyma and his wife, biochemist Olesia Sokur.
