Kryvorivnia. A mountain village in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, lost in the middle of the Carpathians, still haunts us... Remote from civilization, Kryvorivnia once became a place of pilgrimage for the geniuses of Ukrainian literature and art.
What is the spiritual and cultural phenomenon of this Ukrainian village? Why is Kryvorivnia called the Ukrainian Athens? How did the Hutsuls live and manage their households? What customs and rituals of the Hutsuls inspired the geniuses of Ukrainian literature to create?
Gromada learned about all of this from Vasyla Zelenchuk, a researcher at the Ivano-Frankivsk Museum of Local Lore and caretaker of the Hata-Hrazhda Museum in Kryvorivnia.
