In Ukraine, almost 60% of adults are overweight, of whom almost 25% are obese. These are the data provided by the Ministry of Health. This is one of the highest rates among the countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia. About 30% of obese people need surgical treatment - bariatric surgery, which is becoming more common in Ukraine.
