I am in a hurry to get to the Franko House. I walk up a steep street named after Ivan Franko. What else should the street leading to Ivan Franko's house, where the Franko Museum is now, be called? There it is, on the hill, the elegant Swiss-style house of the Franko family, number 152. I like to visit this house, where Franko's spirit still lives. Where you feel at home...

But today I'm not really a visitor, because I have an incredibly interesting interview topic - Ivan Franko and Kharkiv residents. I wonder what connects Ivan Franko's family with Kharkiv. With whom did

Dr Franko maintain friendly relations? How did he respond to Mykola Mikhnovsky's ‘Independent Ukraine’ and where did they meet? What role did Ivan Franko play in the creative life of Khrystyna

Alchevska junior? How did Yurii Shevelev, a Kharkiv resident, comprehend his figure? And which of the genius's works did he call ‘the second “Testament” of Ukrainian literature’? It intensifies my interest that Franko himself never visited Kharkiv, but his sons Petro and Taras even lived and worked in Kharkiv for some time.

My interlocutor is Kyrylo Ivliev, a researcher at the Franko House and deputy director of the Institute of Frank Studies at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. So, this exclusive interview is for Gromada.
