This is a quote from an article by Soviet publicist Ilya Ehrenburg, “Hitler's Spring Offensive,” published on April 29, 1942.
You may ask: why did I include it here? There is no particular reason... I just mentally replaced Hitler with Putin, and “spring offensive” with “summer offensive.” And I remembered that at the end of spring 1942, there were eight months left before the defeat of the Germans at Stalingrad.
