A pale assistant rushes into the office of Sam Altman, CEO of the AI development company: — Sam, it’s a catastrophe! Satellite intelligence has confirmed: China has deployed a billion humanoid combat robots against the US Army!!! They will wipe us off the face of the earth in an hour! What do we do?!
Altman slowly turns in his swivel chair, a mysterious smile appearing on his face:
— Relax. First, that’s a stunning dataset for our new model. Second, draft a tweet: "Today we are releasing o1-Military. We’ve taught the AI to reason, so our 10 robots will start by explaining to the billion Chinese ones why their existence is a hallucination…"
…Jokes aside, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman spoke seriously about the wars of the future at a recent international AI conference in New Delhi:
"The plausible fear is that the Chinese military sends a billion humanoid robots that march through the streets and suppress the US military... The real fear is something else. It is a new kind of war fought on the internet, where you can influence populations, hack infrastructure, and destabilize societies. That seems much more plausible…"
