Recently, the information space was flooded with joyful quotes of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz's statement about the permission to hit the rear of the terrorist federation with long-range weapons. However, a little later the Chancellor clarified that such an authorization "has existed for a long time. On the other hand, it is absolutely unclear: where are the Taurus missiles? What the hell is this?
The Taurus missiles, which Germany previously rejected under Chancellor Olaf Scholz, have a range of more than 500 kilometers - more than the British Storm Shadow, French Scalp and U.S. Atacms. The Taurus are equipped with an intelligent warhead capable of hitting fortified targets such as bridges and bunkers.
Although Merz has stopped disclosing details of military aid since taking office, he has previously publicly expressed support for the transfer of Taurus, subject to coordination with allies.
However, as the Swiss German-language newspaper NZZ notes, the chancellor's policy toward Ukraine is reaching its limits....
