What do the Pyramid of Cheops, rare earth minerals, Fukushima, Rolls Royce, Sellafield, earthquakes, and small modular reactors have in common?
Recently, representatives of the world-famous Rolls-Royce company came to Kyiv, to the Institute of Environmental Geochemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
The director, academician of the National Academy of Sciences, Yuriy Zbulonov, expressed his admiration for their branded car.
- “I tell them that I really respect their products - the quality of their cars. And they answer me: not only cars! We are creating our own reactor. And we are inviting the National Academy of Sciences of
Ukraine to help us with expertise to solve various problems: nuclear waste management, radiation monitoring, site selection.
As it turned out, the British company Rolls Royce won the tender for the development, production and maintenance of nuclear reactors.
