One of the most tragic locations of this four-year war. Kupyansk remains on the line of fire. Will the spring of 2026 in Kupyansk strategically favor Ukraine?
Andriy Besedin, Head of the City Military Administration, confirmed reports that small remnants of Russian forces remain in Kupyansk, where they are either surrendering to the Armed Forces of Ukraine or being eliminated.
— "We understand that as soon as the ice thaws on the Oskil River, the enemy will lose the ability to cross from the left bank to the right. We know what we are fighting for. Every meter of our land is our history and our future. Kupyansk will be completely free from the scum that tries to execute their self-imposed 'plans' without any understanding of the strength of our spirit, says Andriy Besedin.
The territory of the Kupyansk community remains unconquered. The only tactic the enemy can afford is the destruction of the cities and villages they are unable to capture. Today, Kupyansk shares this fate; the Hero City is practically destroyed, yet it continues to resist steadfastly and build plans for post-war life.
Renowned journalist Oleksandr Shvets discusses these issues with Andriy Besedin, Head of the Kupyansk City Military Administration of the Kharkiv region, in the program "Voice of the Community" by the Kharkiv Press Club.
